Of course, we make it even easier than that: purchase Disc Makers’ Mega Distribution Bundle with your CD order and we’ll do it for you! To ensure that your CD song names will be visible on devices such as iTunes, WinAmp, Quintessential Media Player, and Finder (Mac OS), you need to register your album with Gracenote. There are a couple major databases online, and Gracenote is the largest. The information they see does NOT come from your actual CD. If your fans are putting your CD into an Internet-enabled device (a computer using iTunes, for example), the computer is accessing an online database to match your information to your CD. That’s where Gracenote and CD-Text come in. When your fans put your CD in their music players, will your album title and track names display? It depends on what kind of player they’re using and whether you’ve registered your content and coded your files correctly.

An ISRC is a unique, reliable, international identifier used for the purposes of rights administration, and is required by most digital distribution companies and download sites to sell content online.ĭisc Makers can now supply ISRCs for new audio CD orders! Gracenote and CD-Text

You’ve heard the term “ISRC” thrown around in reference to digital files of your music, but what is it, and why do you need it?Īn ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is a 12-digit alphanumeric code that serves as a unique and permanent identifier for any sound recording or music video. I’ll look another day in more detail.Disc Makers can supply ISRC codes, and you can opt into Gracenote and add CD-Text to your project. DrO is also creating a new Winamp with his WACUP stuff. Why did you say DrO when you meant DJ Egg? You’ve confused me by sending me back to a three month old link. The problem with MrS is that the forum desperately needed an “Ignore User” option.ĭo you know if DrO has plans to add any new tagging tool like MB? Or is he still fighting to keep his head above water? What a strange mad crowd - no wonder I felt at home there.

It is fascinating when you step back and look at the people. What fascinates me about Winamp’s main forums are how they are a study in mental illness. I also pump music around the house, and control from various web browsers.

I’ll put Winamp on as a “play something not in my KODI library”, but my main library has evolved way beyond what Winamp can do with it. MB data is miles ahead of where Gracenote was. It also lets me know the mess that Gracenote used to cause to my ripped media. It is why I do so much work on the databases here and uploading of Artwork. But I am a bit too deep down the KODI rabbit hole now. I’ll have a look at that DrO version some time soon. But kinda funny that I now use so many different programs to cover the tasks that Winamp used to do so well. In many ways it is a little embarrassing how deep into KODI I now am. Not sure if that still is happening or not. I know he was also working on an updated Winamp. This plugin is the one that would export to CSV files. His plugins are what made Winamp what it is. There is also a good reason why he was never invited to be a Beta tester… I was not the only one with that opinion.ĭr O’s site is still around. I used to get a lot of pleasure helping out over there, until he tried taking over every ****ing discussion…

But he also killed off a very happy place for me. I have to thank him for stopping me from taking forums so seriously like I did in the past. Selfish self adsorbed arrogant ignorant idiot who acted as if Winamp was his personal product. Can’t remember last beta I got - must have been in 2017.Īs to Mr Sinatra - he is the exact reason I left the community. Radionomy never wanted Winamp, only the Streamcast thing. LOL - seems like our Winamp discussion has been banished to a corner… so might as well make use of it.īeta testing - yeah, we all know why it has gone silent.
